PTFA

All families automatically become “members” of the PTFA when your child joins the school so whether you are a new family to the school or have a younger sibling starting, the PTFA would like to wave you a friendly hello!

We are a very active PTFA and the money raised is used to provide resources and equipment to enhance your child’s learning and enjoyment of school life. As well as fundraising, the PTFA is also there to bring families together within the school community through a series of events throughout the year which create better social links and make the school experience more fun for the children.

To help you keep on top of everything that’s going on, each class usually nominates a Class Representative to act as the liaison point between the PTFA and parents.

There is a PTFA suggestion box in the school Reception and a playground noticeboard, but in the meantime you can email us on meadowptfa@gmail.com and please do go online to Like us on Facebook.com/meadowpta

How can you get involved?

There are lots of ways to be involved and the more helpers we have, the more we can do. You may have useful skills, information or contacts that are new to us and we love hearing fresh ideas.

These events for your children only happen because of parents like you volunteering an hour here and there to run a stall, help on the bar, make popcorn, distribute leaflets, design a poster, marshal at the fun run or sell raffle tickets and generally make it all happen on the day!

An AGM is held every January to elect our Committee of nine who, together with the wider “sub-committee”, volunteer their time to plan and organise events such as the Christmas Fair, Summer Fair, Fun Run and Fireworks display.

We hold discos for the children in the Autumn and Spring terms, organise Ice Cream sales after school on Fridays in the Summer term and have even put on parents’ events such as Quiz evenings to give you an excuse for a night off.

We’re looking forward to meeting you all very soon!
