A warm welcome to Meadow PTFA

Clare and Becky, the co-chairs of Meadow PTFA, along with the rest of the committee welcome you to Meadow Primary School. We hope your child is looking forward to their new start at Meadow Primary.

We are a very active PTFA, and we support the school by raising as much money as we can to enhance, enrich and improve learning experiences for the children. We have recently refurbished the library, funded the playground equipment and trim trail, and created a sensory space. We also provide those 'little extras' that make school memorable, such as Year 6 leavers yearbooks, annual class Christmas present gifts of board games and toys for wet play, computing and art supplies and much more.

Community Spirit & Fun

We also exist to bring families together within the school, because it makes sense for parents to be involved in the life of their chosen school. We have a series of events throughout the year which create better social links and make the school experience more fun for the children. Lastly, we’re here for the simple reason that we want to get together socially, meet new people, and have fun!

PTFA Committee

The PTFA is run by a committee who are all volunteers. All families automatically become “members” of the PTFA when your child joins the school. There are lots of ways to be involved and the more helpers we have, the more we can do. You may have useful skills, information or contacts that are new to us, and we love hearing fresh ideas!

The events for your children only happen because parents like you are volunteering an hour here and there to help support us. The more people become involved, the more we can achieve and the easier it will be.

Even if you have younger children at home, or only a small amount of time, could you come to a meeting, help set up an event, run a stall, help on the bar or serve food, marshal at the fun run, sell raffle tickets, distribute leaflets or design a poster? Perhaps you have a professional skill you could help us out with? You don't have to come into the school; some of our volunteering tasks can be done from home.

An AGM is held every January to elect our core Committee who, together with the wider “sub-committee”, volunteer their time to plan and organise events.

Our current officials are:

Co-Chairs: Rebecca Learmont and Clare Todd

Treasurer: Bernice Hickman

Secretary: Abby Hope

Class Rep Coordinator: Sarah Prowse

If you’d like to get involved in the PTFA or have any questions, please email us on or contact one of the committee directly.

Our Events

Our big annual events are our Summer Fair - Sunday 2nd July 2023 and Fireworks Night - Friday 10th November 2023. We also run school discos, Christmas raffles and give you an opportunity to get creative, creating personalised Christmas cards and home-made pizzas.  Our first event of the new school year is usually a Macmillan Coffee Morning straight after school drop off, this is a great opportunity to meet other parents.

We have made a list of all you need to keep up to date with PTFA events within the school:

Facebook - Please like our Facebook page - which contains details about our future events. During the school year, we also use our network of class reps to act at the liaison point between the PTFA and parents and will also inform you of activities via Parent Mails.
